Letter from Monday, April 13, 2009

It's a hot day today here in Texas. I guess that'll be the norm
though. This email will have responses to several questions, as
well as other important events from this past week.

So, Elder Andrews and I have been together for 5 weeks or so
now. We've had a lot of fun working together. He's Senior
Companion, but we have both agreed that the title of Senior
Companion really doesn't mean too much.

Well, I haven't heard too much from Monique lately, I get a fairly
short letter about once a week or so. It's good to hear from her
though. She seems to be enjoying the MTC, and it sounds like
she's getting along with her companions.

This week has been pretty good. One of the major highlights is
that we set a baptismal date with Martha! We've been working
with her since I got here, and she finally set a baptismal date!
We're also working with some Less-Active families, and one of
them came to church yesterday, which was really exciting to see.

Last night, we had an Easter celebration up at Ovidio's and
Nora's. It was a lot of fun. A quick story from that- I was
jumping on the tramp, and I did a backflip, and then did
another half, and landed on my back on the bar, and then
slid down onto my head. But no worries, all is well. I'm a little
sore, but nothing that I can't get over. And, I got pictures of it,
which makes it all better!

Anyway, we've found a lot of good potentials, and a few really
good new investigators.

The work continues to roll forward. Crazy thought...I call home
in less than a month! It crept up on me pretty quick. Well, I'll
try to send a few pictures home this week via snail-mail.

Well, I send you all my love from Texas!

Con amor,
Elder Meservy
