Monday, August 31st

Well, transfers were this week, and I am now in Harlingen. My
new address is 809 N. 26th St. Apt 7 Harlingen, TX 78550.

My new area is on bikes, which was great until yesterday when
there was a bike rainstorm. We biked through it anyway. A
couple interesting things to note here. First off, this was my
companion Elder Andrew's area before he went to Weslaco
with me, now I'm here. The other thing, probably the most
exciting, is that the original Iwo Jima memorial is in my area.
The man at the base of the pole pushing it into the ground
was from Weslaco. I tried attaching a picture, but it didn't
want to cooperate.

Being on a bike has been very tiring, but I guess that's the way
it is.

My companion's name is Elder Olsen. He's 5'6" and 115 pounds.
He's from Clearfield, UT. He has an identical twin. (My last
companion was a twin too...) He's one transfer behind me,
so we're co-senior companions.

I'm learning a lot and working hard. I love you all very much!

So, I guess a lot of wards here in South Texas don't have
pianists or organists, because I got roped in to playing the
organ for the Spanish ward here too. Well, I guess we serve
in whatever ways that we can.

Love,
Elder Meservy

P.S. Happy Year-mark to me on Thursday! :)
